English Tea

Fine china, three tiered stands, homemade scones and cakes, the quintessential English tradition in a private home.

What this is

Afternoon tea in England is not a meal so much as an afternoon. It is served in the sitting room or the garden of a family home, on the china that family actually uses, with scones still warm and cakes made that morning.

Your host family is at the table with you. They pour, they explain what everything is and where the recipes came from, and they answer whatever your children want to ask. No other guests are present.
