How do you choose hosts and guides?

We vet every host, guide and partner before they join.

Are your hosts insured?

Yes. Every host must hold home insurance that covers paying guests, plus public liability cover of at least £1,000,000, before their first booking.

Where do the experiences take place?

London and the English countryside. The Heritage Trail can also visit Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Booking and payment

How do I book?

Send an enquiry, receive your personal proposal, then accept and pay. Your booking is confirmed once payment is received.

How quickly will you reply?

We reply personally, usually the same day.

How much does it cost?

Each experience is priced per family. We quote you personally when you enquire.

How do we pay, and in which currency?

By card, in pounds sterling, on a secure Stripe payment page. Your booking is confirmed as soon as payment is received.

How far ahead should we book?

At least 7 days before your first experience, so we have time to arrange your host or guide. The earlier you book, the more choice of dates.

Can we combine several experiences into one visit?

Yes. Choose as many as you like in one enquiry and we arrange and price them together as a single visit.

What if we need to cancel?

Each experience is counted from its own date. More than 14 days before: full refund. 7 to 14 days before: 50% refund. Less than 7 days before: no refund, unless we can rearrange to another date. If we cancel: full refund. The full terms are in clause 3 of our Terms of Service.

Do we need travel insurance?

We strongly recommend travel insurance covering cancellation, medical costs and personal liability, and ask you to confirm it when you enquire.

Can you help with visas?

We don't arrange visas. Once your booking is paid, you can download a booking confirmation letter with your reference, dates and amount paid, which you may show with your application.

Your family's visit

Will other guests join us?

No. Every experience is for your family only.

How are children counted?

A family is 2 adults and 2 children aged 3 to 11. Children 12 and over count as adults, and children aged 2 and under are free.

Can a larger family or group book?

Yes, subject to the host's acceptance. The Riverside Grill can also host a larger private party of your own guests.

Can you arrange an experience for a birthday, anniversary or honeymoon?

Yes. Tell us the occasion when you enquire and we will plan around it.

What does the Heritage Trail include?

One guide for several days. We plan the route, buy the entry passes and walk beside you. You book your own hotel and driver.

Yes, female guides are available on request.

Yes. Our Personal Interpreter Service provides an interpreter in your family's language.

Which languages can the interpreter speak?

The language your family speaks. Tell us which one when you enquire.

Can our children learn English during the visit?
